We spent our July 4th holiday weekend in the Gunnison County area. We were lucky to be able to rent a boat on Friday, July 3rd and cruise around the Taylor Park Reservoir. It was absolutely gorgeous and absolutely worth the trip. Taylor Park Reservoir is a 2,000 surface acre reservoir that is popular for those who enjoy fishing and/or those who enjoy beautiful mountain views. The reservoir is located 29 miles northeast of Gunnison, CO.

We rented a boat from the Taylor Park Marina and it was simple and easy. We got a 20 foot pontoon boat which cost $175 for 4 hours – if you compare this price to other places in the state, this is a deal! The boat was older but it was completely perfect for us to cruise around in. The water was cold but we still jumped in and enjoyed the day!
